			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Neil Haddon&#8217;s work <em>Analgesic Fields (NW Tasmania)</em> has been selected as a finalist in the Art Gallery of NSW&#8217;s <a target="_blank" href="http://www.artgallery.nsw.gov.au/about-us/opportunities-for-artists/prizes/wynne-prize/">Wynne Prize.</a></p>
<p>The Wynne prize is awarded annually for &#8216;the best landscape painting of Australian scenery in oils or watercolours or for the best example of figure sculpture by Australian artists completed during the 12 months preceding the [closing] date ..&#8217;</p>
<p>The winner was announced on Friday 15 April.   The prize was awarded to Richard Goodwin, for his sculpture, entitled <em>Co-isolated slave</em>. The Archibald, Wynne and Sulman prize exhibitions opened to the public on 16 April.  They continue until 26 June 2011.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Criterion artist <strong>Dr Yvette Watt</strong> is curating <em>Reconstructing the Animal</em> at the Plimsoll Gallery, University of Tasmania Centre for the Arts. The exhibition &#8216;explores a re-thinking of animals and human-animal relationships throught the work of contemporary artists&#8217;.  It includes works by Harri Kallo, Kate James, <strong>Alicia King, Adam Geczy</strong> and <strong>Jan Guy</strong>, Angela Singer, Bryndis Snaebjornsdottir and Mark Wilson. (Alicia, Adam and Jan are also Criterion artists.)</p>
<p>The project is part of the <a target="_blank" href="http://tendaysontheisland.org/">Ten Days on the Island</a> festival, and was assisted by Arts Tasmania. The exhibition continues until 15 April.</p>

<p>The exhibition showcases visual arts research outputs from staff at the Tasmanian School of Art, within the guidelines of &#8216;The Excellence in Research for Australia Initiative&#8217;.</p>
