Neil Haddon WINNER of Tasmania’s Glover Prize

Congratulations to Neil Haddon who has been awarded the 2008 John Glover Prize for landscape painting, for his painting Purblind (Opiate). Neil receives $30,000 plus a bronze maquette of John Glover valued at $4,000.
Kelly Gellatly, curator of Contemporary Art at the National Gallery of Victoria, Peter Timms, Tasmanian writer and art critic and curator/painter/lecturer Ian North were the selected judges for the prize.
Past winners include Raymond Arnold, David Keeling, Stephen Lees, and Michael McWilliams.
The finalists’ paintings can be viewed at the Falls Park Pavilion in Evandale from Saturday 8 March until Tuesday 11 March.
Neil has been represented by Criterion Gallery since 2004. His last exhibition Stranded was held in March 2007, and he will be exhibiting again in October this year.
